Manually Downloading Old Jersey Boys Podcasts - Use This File Naming Tip

If you are interested in manually downloading older Jersey Boys Podcasts there is a file naming convention that you can use to get them downloaded using your standard web browser. 

The individual MP3 audio files are all numbered in sequential order. For instance the first podcast is "JBP-001-JerseyBoysPodcast.mp3".  The second podcast is "JBP-002-JerseyBoysPodcast.mp3". All you need to do is increment 001 to 002 to 003 to whatever number you want up to the most current podcast without getting an error. 

You do this to the URL in the browser, so the complete link for the 1st podcast is:

libsyn.com/media/aap/JBP-001-JerseyBoysPodcast.mp3

The second podcast is:

libsyn.com/media/aap/JBP-002-JerseyBoysPodcast.mp3

Just change the digits and you will get them out of the archive.  If you have any problems, drop us an email to: jerseyboyspodcast@gmail.com.

We are working on an Archive reference page with an index to make this easier. We also will have a future mailing list in the works that lets you know when a new podcast has been posted, and a full download feed for iTunes or your favorite podcatching client.

San Diego Fire Update

Just a quick note to Jersey Boys fans that the Jersey Boys Podcast family and friends in San Diego are currently safe from the fires in San Diego County. 

The fire fighters and other public safety officials are doing an amazing job of keeping us safe and they deserve a ton of support.

Admin - Special Feature "Island of Misfit Geeks" For Jersey Boys Tech Geeks!

Jersey Boys Podcast Meet-Up In San Francisco?

The Jersey Boys Podcast will be in San Francisco from the 10-12th of December 2006 to see the Jersey Boys Tour @ the Curran Theatre.

If there are any podcast listeners in the Bay Area that are interesting in getting together for a podcast meet up, please let me know at: jerseyboyspodcast@gmail.com. 

We already have one person who is interested so it will definitely happen. We just need to nail down a date, time, and location (suggestions?).

Update on JBP#025 PDF Paper & Give-A-Way

In Jersey Boys Podcast #025 we mentioned two items that should have some follow-up:

1. Stephanie wrote a great English paper that focused on her experiences with John Lloyd Young's Tony Award acceptance speech.  Here is a link to the PDF.
2. We have Jersey Boys t-shirt and a signed Jersey Boys program by the the four main Broadway cast members John Lloyd Young, Daniel Reichard, Christian Hoff, and J. Robert Spencer that we'd like to give away to a Jersey Boys Podcast listener via a free random drawing.  The details on what to do to get in the free drawing are in the podcast, so you have to listen to participate.

Podcast Update - Feeling Under The Weather

Just a quick update on where we stand with a new Jersey Boys Podcast.  I am still recovering from feeling under the weather over the last week which caused me to get a sore throat and a cough.  In addition, I had to go on a quick business trip from San Diego to Washington DC, and that has cause some work load backup.

I was able on Sunday afternoon to completely produce the content for the next podcast, but my voice is still not ideal and I'm going to postpone recording the next podcast until things sound better. 

There will definitely be a new Jersey Boys Podcast by Oct. 29th.

The JerseyBoysPodcast was at the recent Podcast & Portable Media Expo (PME) 2006 and one of the video podcasts that seemed interesting and innovative was Good Night Burbank.

It is a humourous look at the TV news and reporter business, with production and writing that is appealing for those looking for a quaility podcast program.

Get Pluggd In To The Jersey Boys Podcast

There is a new podcast site called Pluggd that is still in Beta but you can get your Jersey Boys Podcast via this URL: http://www.pluggd.com/channel/show/jersey_boys_podcast. 

If you are listening to the Jersey Boys Podcast via a web browser than this might be a nicer interface for listening. 

They are going to start offering in-podcast audio search so you can quickly find a topic if you are so interested.

Jersey Boys Podcast Administrivia Update

Jersey Boys Podcast hopes everyone has been having a great summer.  Our family just got back from a two-week family vacation.  And are looking forward to getting a new podcast about Jersey Boys Broadway out this upcoming weekend. 

It should be noted that Jersey Boys Tour is now online and it looks like after San Francisco, CA that Los Angeles, CA will be the second city in the tour.

Podcast #015 Corrections

A couple of errors in Podcast #015 ... first up the URL for iTunes Signature Maker was incorrect, and second I said the version of the "Big Man In Town" song segment was from the Cast CD but it is not.  It is from the Anthology CD.  Thanks to Frank and Jean for the corrections.

Jersey Boys Podcast #014 Is Recorded

Good news on the next Jersey Boys podcast ... I have it recorded.  I just need to do the audio editing and then post.  Hopefully this will be very soon!

The show has: news, listener feedback, and a sample from the recent David Letterman appearance.

Now I'm Off On A Family Vacation

The Holden family is off on a vacation to Yosemite.  Sorry for the podcast delay.  I'll have spotty Internet connectivity until Friday, March 17th, 2006, and limited recording capabilities.

Q: Does anyone have any more information about "THE BOOK" that the Jersey Boys Broadway production is based on written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice?

A: Book is a term that refers to the script, so when they say book by Brickman and Elice they are referring to the script. The writers did reference an unpublished Tommy DeVito autobiography that was provided by Tommy himself. This autobiography was to be, and may still be, published.

The goal of this fan driven site is to share news, information, and experiences of the Broadway musical Jersey Boys and the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Over the course of next couple of months this will include fan interviews, updates on current news, and tidbits about the musical production; and hopefully interviews with many of the instrumental talented people that are part of both Jersey Boys, and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
